Blocking Websites Without Using any External Softwares

This article helps you to block websites without any external software. 

This post is useful for parents who go to work and worry about their children. Parents can restrict specific websites so that whenever those websites are opened they will show error. This way you can feel safe.

Let's see how to block any website. In this example i will show how to block Facebook.

Steps to Block Websites

1. Open C:\ or drive in which Windows is installed.
2. Go to folder Windows and open it. 
3. Open folder System32. Inside you will find folder named drivers, open it.
4. Find etc folder and open it.
5. Search for file named hosts and open it using notepad.
6. Append the below line at the end of the file.
7. 127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com

Now save the file and close the browers if opened and try opening  facebook. 
You will get an error. Still if you are able to access the facebook then clear your browser history and cache and try once again.
Like this you can block any number of websites you like.

 If you want to unblock blocked website then perform steps 1-6 and remove the lines which you have added to the end of the file.
